training with the baleares zone |
We just spent a delightful two days with our new mission president and his wife. These past two months, the Pace's have been traveling all over to meet with the missionaries and get to know the mission. We were so uplifted and strengthened while they were here for Zone Training. We took them to meet the branch presidents in Inca--Presidente Amoros, and in Manacor--Presidente Pinero, as well as the chapels in Inca and Manacor. We had lunch at our favorite kebab--think gyros in a pita/burrito--in Manacor. We all appreciate and love them already and are excited for their leadership.
We also have some news about the Center for Young Adults--it no longer exists. We are back to being Young Single Adults--Jovenes Adultos Solteros, or JAS. We received a letter from the first presidency and we were all instructed to refer to Manual 2 and restructure the program. It also reminded everyone that our priesthood authority for the JAS is the District President, not CES. We really aren't sure what we will be doing with the JAS at this point. It may not affect us much, since we hadn't really started the center yet, but it did mean that the local couple that was serving with us was released and given a new assignment. We meet with the JAS next week--they will be able to decide how and what they want their program to be and we are excited to see how they do it!
